Carunchio has three bars, two restaurants, a post office, butchers, grocers, pharmacy, petrol station, florist, DIY and a cash-machine. Carunchio is ideal for a self catering holiday, it provides shops for essentials and local produce but, if you need a greater selection of shops to enhance your holiday then a shopping mall is situated just of the SS650 in San Salvo. Carunchio is home to both the elderly Carunchians' as well as families with children and teenagers. The Carunchian community welcome holiday makers, few speak English but generally you can find a way to communicate.
The village offers plenty of nooks and crannies for the curious mind of a child, as well as the adults, so holidays for children are also an option.Children are safe holidaying in Carunchio (so long as they watch out for the odd car) and can enjoy a “Famous Five” style holiday, they can explore from dusk until dawn in relative safety.
Where Are we?
Carunchio is 40 minutes inland from the Adriatic Coast. You travel south of Pescara along the A14 and, when you get South of Vasto you need to look for signs for the SS650 for Isernia, once on the SS650 the drive is about 35 minutes although this may take a little while longer on your first visit.
