The staff at Valle De Sogni offer a warm welcome. Every effort is made to welcome you, a smile and a little effort with some Italian words delight Sergio and the staff. When I returned with my brother in March 2007, we wereinvited over each evening and made friends with Anna (Polska), Georgia and Nalo (Romania) and Sergio (Italia). Domenico (bottom right of group picture) insisted I put a note on the site to say he is "The Best Italian", he has certainly been a reliable friend who is now keen to learn English and come to England to work for a while.

San Salvo Beach is the nearest beach to Carunchio and is immaculate. The beach is cleaned every night and is the pride and joy of the Italian people who treasure their resort. The beach provides a safe haven for bathers and families of all ages with sporting facilities, music and bars with quality pizza made on the premises.
Torrebuna - 10 Minute Drive
Torrebuna is a short drive or even a nice walk from Carunchio. Torrebuna sits high within the lush tree infested hills
and provides a real feel of tranquility and relaxation through the vast greenery that surrounds the area. There are walks that appear to go off into the woodlands that I am yet to explore this October.
The village itself is stunning.

Vasto - 35 Minute Drive
Vasto is a beautiful Italian town that overlooks a stunning and very clean golden beach resort. The beach is exceptionally clean and the well maintained beach have several bars, restaurants and Hotels that all front straight onto the beach numerous bars. Vasto beach offers a variety of water activities fro pedalo’s to canoeing and diving and if you need to dry off, then take a couple of lap around the go-kart circuit in San Salvo, afterall once back in Carunchio, you can relax all over again.

Aqualand Water Theme Park
All children love them, and dad’s have a crackin’ time, mum can just relax in the sun when the family visit the outdoor water theme park just outside of Vasto.

The Winter Ski Resort - Roccaraso
Roccaraso is the nearest premier ski resort with excellent downhill and cross-country skiing facilities and is less than 1 hour away! Toppe del Tersoro near to Roccaraso provides one of Abruzzo’s most interesting ski areas with downhill run to Aremonga Plateau from 2,140 metres with great views.

Other ski resorts include Gran Sasso, Majella, Velino-Sirente and the mountains of the "Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo. The Cinque Miglia plateau of Carseolani and Simbruini provide a network of well equipped ski resorts. In total 17 ski resorts are available throughout the mountainous areas of the Abruzzo region.
L'Aquila and the Gran Sasso Mountains
L'Aquila is set against the backdrop of the Gran Sasso which is snow covered during most of the year and is the regional's capital for mountain sports.
